Week 5:
The weeks continue to be busy with extra curricular activities happening and next week is no exception. The Cinderella rehearsals are happening in earnest during Week 5. There are also activities happening every day in recognition of Diversity Week.
For our Year 9 and Year 10 Girls there is football in Hamilton on Tuesday and BAS football continues on Wednesday when we come up against Ballarat Grammar. We had Bayden W (Year 9) and Lenny W, Micah D (Year 10) play against St Patricks last Wednesday.
With so many things happening during the week, which offer great experiences for our students, we encourage all students who are missing classes to do their best in terms of keeping up with the work they have missed.
Also in the words of Ted Lasso "Be curious, not judgemental" - Think about it, its great advice.
Kind regards

Senior School

RYDA:
On Monday 12 May, Senior students participated in the RYDA, Road Safety Education program. The RYDA workshop features highly engaging practical demonstrations, real-life narratives, videos, quizzes and interactive role play. The RYDA approach supports youth development in a number of areas including social resilience and anticipating and managing risk. Created for Senior high school students, RYDA gives students a unique opportunity to set road safety goals and build strategies alongside the friends they will most likely be riding with, as drivers or passengers. At the workshop, students attended six interactive sessions at a dedicated venue over the course of a school day. Back in the classroom, the hosts gave teachers everything they needed to continue the learning throughout the school year.
Students gained insight into road safety through learning about speed & stopping, driving so others survive, the “I” in drive, road choices, crash investigators and mind matters.
Very informative course for the students who are intending to drive, those on “L” plates and those students who have recently gained their “P” plates.
Community Connection - What a great day:
Year 12 students used their scheduled Mercy class to travel to the O’Keeffe Campus and visit the Year 7 cohort. In the lead-up to the visit, each Year 7 student received a letter from a Year 12 student, checking in and asking how their year had begun.
The visit included a meet-and-greet, hot chocolate, and a range of games and "getting to know you" activities. While some students were absent and not everyone was able to meet the person they had written to, it was clear that the Year 7s deeply appreciated the attention and care shown by our Senior School students.
Another activity is planned for Term 3 to continue building these connections.
BAS Footy:
On Wednesday 14 May we played St Patrick's College, Ballarat. Due to an injury, the game was abandoned at 3 quarter time.
On Wednesday 21 May we will play Ballarat Grammar.
Library Study:
A reminder the library is open Monday to Thursday until 4.30pm for any students who wish to stay and study. If students are requiring a roster to plan their study week at school and home, please see Mel.
Sub-SACs:
Sub-Sacs are held on Tuesdays and Thursday evenings in the library. If your child is involved in the process you will receive a message the week before.
The GAT:
The Victorian Curriculum and Assessment Authority (VCAA) requires all students from Year 11 & Year 12 who are studying one or more Unit 3/4 sequences to sit the GAT on Tuesday 17 June, 2025 at Camperdown College.
This task is completed over the course of the day under strict exam conditions.
- Section A - 9:00am to 11:15am
- Section B - 1:15pm to 3:00pm
Year 11 & Year 12 VCE-VM students are required to complete Section A only. But if any VCE-VM students are completing a Unit 3/4 subject and planning on sitting the exam, they will be required to both A and B.
Students will need to ensure that they go directly to Camperdown College and arrive no later than 8:45am.
More information to follow soon.
Kind regards
