Year 9 Students Sample Careers Skills
One of the biggest challenges for a young person is how and where to commence the career journey. On Friday, 21 May, Year 9 students participated in the annual Try A Career Day at SW TAFE (Sherwood Park) Warrnambool. The Expo provided an opportunity for our students to try hands-on activities and talk to people about what is involved in a range of different careers. These included experiences relating to engineering, sport and recreation, hair and beauty, building/plumbing/electrical, business administration, health, early childhood, and more.
Students participated in three sessions of their own choosing, providing them a taste of different career pathways which could link in to their approach for Year 10 Work Experience. They also had the opportunity to find out more about VETis (Vocational Education and Training inSchools).
