Six Students Represent at State Swimming Championships

Six of our students made it through to the School Sport Victoria State Swimming Championships this year.  They headed to the Melbourne Sports and Aquatic Centre on Thursday, 22 April to compete in their events.  The competition was very strong at the event, with a number of records broken.

Matilda Darcy, Year 8, achieved the best result of the day, finishing 5th in the U14 50m Breaststroke, with a time of 40.85s.  Matilda also finished 7th in the 200m Individual Medley event, with a time of 2:50.85.  Kiarna Murfett, Year 10, competed in the U16 50m Breaststroke, finishing 8th in a time of 42.52s.  We also had a team of boys compete in the U14s relay, Kailam Bateman (Year 8), Finn Darcy (Year 8), Hamish Dean (Year 9), and Parker Walsh (Year 7); the boys finished 8th in a time of 2:25.13.

We are very proud of their efforts and congratulate each of them on their results.  It is an outstanding achievement to make it to this level of competition and to have been 5th, 7th and 8th fastest in the state!
